APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION:  There is a $20 application fee that must accompany your application.  Additionally, you should include your current high school transcripts, your final high school transcripts (upon graduation), immunization form, & your SAT/ACT scores.  Apply as soon as possible.  Suggested deadline is March 1 (this is so I can get you registered for classes early in June).

FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID FORM (FAFSA):  You must apply for financial in order for HOPE and softball scholarships to be processed.  In order for your scholarships to be available by the fee payment deadline of August 2nd, you should complete or renew the FAFSA by May 1Any applications submitted after May 1 will be processed, but there is no guarantee your funds will be available by the fee payment deadline of August 2, 2010. 

FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION:  These are academic scholarships ranging from $200 to $2000 annually.  No applications will be accepted after March 1. 

APPLICATION FOR HOUSING:  There is a $50 application fee and a $250 damage deposit that is required with your application.  Dorm rooms are assigned on a first come first serve basis.  Suggested deadline is May 1.

MANDATORY PARTICIPATION FORMSThe forms on this page must be completed prior to practice or competition with the Gordon College softball team.

SUMMER 2010 ORIENTATION DATES:  Once you receive your final acceptance to the college, I will register you for your fall 2010 classes.  However, it is your responsibility sign up (through admissions) and attend one of the following orientation dates:  June 16, July 8, July 22, August 4, August 11.

 

FALL 2010 PAYMENT DEADLINE: August 2, 2010.  All students must pay for tuition and fees with their own money and/or by activating financial aid/scholarships through the financial aid office.  Schedules not fully paid or activated by 4:00 p.m. on August 2nd will be dropped.  Most classes will be full at this point.  Trying to create a class schedule that is conducive to your major as well as being a student athlete after this deadline is very difficult if not impossible.

 

IMPORTANT FALL 2010 DATES

·         August 12-14:  Dorm check-in

·         August 16:  Classes begin

·         September 3-6:  Labor Day Holiday – no softball

·         October 7:  Midterm

·         October 8-12:  Fall Break – no softball

·         November 24-28:  Thanksgiving Break – no softball

·         December 7-10:  Final Exams

·         January 10, 2011:  Classes and spring practices resume

 

NCAA CLEARING HOUSE:  All incoming players that have the desire to play for an NCAA school after Gordon College need to visit the following web page. www.ncaaclearinghouse.net  It is very important that you determine if you are NCAA eligible as this will determine the course load you must take while attending Gordon College in order to play for a NCAA school.  After receiving your clearing house letter please bring a copy to Coach Carter Hattermann.  Any player that wishes to play for a NCAA school must receive NCAA Clearing House Eligibility or graduate from a 2-year institution with an Associates Degree.

·         Cell Phone Service:  Verizon Wireless provides the best coverage at Gordon College.  All other plans (AT&T, Nextel, T-Mobile, Sprint, etc) have very limited coverage on campus and in Lamar County.
