O’Connor Essay Revision Instructions

Any student in this class who wants to revise their first major graded assignment (the analysis of O’Connor) and turn it in for a new grade may do so. All revised essays are due to the professor during the 14th week of class (April 13-17) . All revised essays must be submitted to turnitin.com in the “revision” assignment section as well.  In order to receive a new grade for your revised paper, you MUST complete all four of the following steps.

 

  1. Turn in a revised version of your essay, written and printed according to MLA style guidelines and the supplemental style guidelines outlined in the original assignment.
  2. Turn in the original version of your essay, with my grade sheet still attached.
  3. Underline on the original version of your paper all the parts of the paper that you revised in the new draft.
  4. Turn in a cover letter in which you explain to me:

·         the main point of your revised essay

·         what revisions you made between the two versions of your essay

·         how your revisions have improved the paper so it better meets the standards of a college/professional research essay

·         what you would continue working on if you had more time

 

Finally, be sure to staple this whole packet together before turning it in. Put your cover letter on top, then your revised essay, then your original essay.
