1. Describe the Enlightenment outlook (or Second Europe) using specific ideas and beliefs and representative people to illustrate that outlook. (Worth 20 points).

 

2. In essays discuss the basic ideas of Conservatism and Liberalism. Show the backgrounds out of which they appear and the effects they had in shaping Enlightenment ideas. (Worth 60 points).

3. Write on three parts (Worth 60 points).

5. Imagine that you were a young person at the time of the French Revolution and that you are still alive at the middle of the 19th century. How might your views of the Second Europe or Enlightenment have changed by the latter date? Write about the following as you answer the question:
