SMITH HALL

Front view of Smith Hall

Smith Hall, built in 1939, was funded by the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works. Later named the Public Works Administration (PWA), the project was part of Franklin D. Roosevelt's 'New Deal' effort to create jobs after the Great Depression. The building was named after Walter Byron Smith, an 1882 graduate and Board of Trustees member.

Smith Hall is primarily used for our nursing students.  Students may choose from an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing, an Associate of Science transfer degree or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in cooperation with the Medical College of Georgia.  Gordon's nursing program has consistently ranked as one of the top nursing programs in Georgia. A nursing skills lab and various Faculty offices are also located in Smith.
