PLANT-A-TREE PROJECT
The Gordon College campus is well-known for its beautiful landscaping. Several of the old oak trees on Lambdin Green had to be removed recently when an arborist determined they were diseased and dying. The canopies of these great trees are greatly missed by those of us on campus who enjoyed their shade and beauty. This loss has made us aware of the value of trees to the beauty of our grounds. In our continuing desire to retain the beauty of the campus, the Gordon College Foundation has established the Plant-A-Tree Project.
The care and upkeep of our grounds are supported through this project which allows a donor to "adopt" a current tree or to sponsor the planting of an additional tree on campus. The average donation required is $350. A portion of the donation is used to inscribe a bronze marker which is placed on a natural stone at the base of the tree. By walking across campus you can see the names of people who have helped provide the beauty that you will enjoy at Gordon.
