Gordon College to Offer Classes at Fort Valley State University

Gordon College will soon begin offering classes on the campus of Fort Valley State University. The classes are designed to assist students in becoming academically prepared for baccalaureate degree programs.

Lawrence Weill, president of Gordon College and Larry E. Rivers, president of Fort Valley State University, will sign a memorandum of understanding about the program Friday, Oct. 10 on the Fort Valley campus.

"We are excited about this partnership," said Ed Wheeler, Gordon College interim vice president of academic affairs. "This will greatly enhance the academic opportunities that the University System of Georgia provides the citizens of middle Georgia."

Fort Valley State University is a state and land-grant institution located in Fort Valley in Middle Georgia with a student population of about 2,500.

The classes are expected to begin in early 2009.
