FOREIGN LANGUAGE
The mission of the Language Arts in Gordon College's Division of Humanities is to celebrate the diverse expression of human emotion, thought, imagination, creativity and discovery by improving each student's foundation in writing, reading and research in foreign languages, English, literature, communication and philosophy.
An Associate of Arts Degree in foreign language provides you the basis to pursue a bachelor’s degree in foreign language or foreign language education. The degree will prepare you for a career in international business, teaching, social work, interpreting, translating, the foreign service, law, and education, to name just a few possibilities.
Gordon College offers Spanish and French at the beginning and intermediate levels. Additionally, we offer six hours of Spanish Conversation in our study abroad program in Barcelona, courses that are the equivalent of 3000-level courses at the University System's four-year institutions.
Gordon's language classes offer a combination of the high standards expected at major universities and the personal attention that can be found only at institutions where instructors focus on their students.
