Maya Frieman Hoover holds a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College and a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance with a minor in Italian Language and Literature from Binghamton University. She has appeared as a soloist with various choirs and has given multiple recitals in Maryland, New York, New Jersey, and Indiana.
On the operatic stage, she has performed the title role in Xerxes with the Westminster Opera Theater and the role of Bradamante in Alcina with the Bloomington Early Music Festival. Last summer she sang the title role in Madama Butterfly with the Indiana University Opera Theater.
She is currently Assistant Professor of Voice at Clayton College and State University in Morrow, Georgia.
She is joined by José Meléndez, piano. Mr. Meléndez earned his Master of Music degree in piano accompanying and coaching at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, N.J., under the instruction of Dr. J.J. Penna and Dalton Baldwin. He is currently continuing his solo performance study under the tutelage of José Ramos-Santana.
