Teresa Violett McCoy holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, and a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from Florida State University. Mrs. McCoy has performed frequently throughout the southeast, including appearances with the Atlanta Opera and the Spoleto Festivals in Charleston, South Carolina and in Spoleto, Italy. Her lyric soprano voice lends itself to a variety of styles of music, including classical, musical theatre and contemporary Christian. In the 1980's, she appeared in many musical theatre productions with both community and professional troupes in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Her musical theatre roles have included "Marian Paroo" in The Music Man, "Queen Agravain" in Once Upon a Mattress, "Ann" in The 1940's Radio Hour, and others. In recent years, she has been a featured soloist at Music Week at Lake Junaluska, North Carolina, which is a retreat and conference for church musicians sponsored by the Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts.
